Spine and Spinal Cord Injuries Claims

Injury to the spinal cord can be caused as a result of an accident or through medical negligence. In most cases, the effects of an injury to the spinal cord can be catastrophic and life changing.

When a spinal cord injury occurs, a person will require not only specialist medical treatment but also practical, emotional and physical support to aid recovery and rebuild their lives.

The most common causes of spinal injury are as a result of :

• Trauma as a result of medical treatment or surgery e.g. spinal block damage
• Delayed treatment of an infection or condition affecting the spine  e.g. Cauda Equina
• In non clinical negligence cases, serious injury can be caused by accidents at work, falls from height or as a result of a serious road traffic accident. For these    types of cases, see our Serious Injury personal injury section.

If you have suffered a spinal injury you may require specialist access to :

Medical: Obtain a report from leading experts to identify the nature of your condition and the likely prognosis.
Rehabilitation: Access to leading rehabilitation experts
Care: Provide access to leading care and rehabilitation experts, who can prepare a substantial report on your past, current and future needs
Housing: Instruct leading accommodation experts to look at the cost of adapting your existing home or if this is unsuitable to advise on a new home.
Financial Assistance: In addition to trying to recover any loss of earnings you may have suffered, we can connect you to financial advisers to assist with  financial planning
