Divorce Counselling, Mediation and Arbitration
Our Family Law department recognise the importance of having an alternative way for couples to sorting out arrangements regarding their children and financial arrangements when the relationship breaks down. We offer divorce counselling, mediation and arbitration as a means for couples to meet together with a mediator and sort everything out for themselves in an amicable way. For information about mediation call us.
What is Divorce Counselling, Mediation and Arbitration?
Divorce Counselling, Mediation and Arbitration involves both parties working out arrangements for themselves and their children with the impartial assistance of a Mediator.
What does a Mediator do?
A mediator does not take sides. Divorce Counselling, Mediation and Arbitration does not involve solicitors in the mediation meetings. Mediation is not a substitute for legal advice, as mediators do not advise or represent either of you individually.
Mediators’ help both of you work out proposals for settlement which are then summarised into a document for each of you to take to your own Solicitor for advice upon. It then can be formalised as a legal binding agreement.
