Qualifications & Training

John secured his LL.B Law degree from the University of Central Lancashire (now known as University of Lancashire).  Later securing a post graduate diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Huddersfield.

John has a Family Law Accreditation and Legal Aid Supervisor.

Experience & Expertise

John has been fortunate to be exposed to all areas of Family Law sois able to advise, assist and support clients within all issues which may arise following a relationship breakdown.

Particularly passionate about financial relief which is to assist spouses in resolving the division of the matrimonial assets following a breakdown of the marriage.  This area of law is more complex than many other areas due to constantly evolving case law.  It is therefore essential to maintain a good level of knowledge so client’s are correctly advised and cases are resolved swiftly where possible

Noteable Cases

John has represented many parents within care proceedings to secure the child’s (or children’s) return.  This can be very challenging due to the significant concerns the local authority have when issuing the proceedings.  As a parent myself I find this particularly rewarding.

He has represented victims of extreme domestic abuse and provided them a high level of support throughout very difficult and emotional periods during their case.  From these proceedings I have secured injunction orders, termination of parental rights and no contact orders preventing a parent from having any form of contact with the child.

At Vincents

Prior to joining Vincents Solicitors John was aware of our strong reputation in the local area both from professional dealings and from discussions with other Family Law practitioners.  Vincents is an ambitious firm constantly looking to expand and improve.  When he became aware that a position was available he was eager to explore this and was excited to join when given the opportunity.

Vincents is one of the few local multi-office firms with modern resources, high reputation and knowledgeable practice.

Working With Clients

Honesty and strong client care is something John prides himself on.  Part of being a Family Law Practitioner is not only advising on the law but also to support clients throughout the process.  Each client is there due to unfortunate circumstances which can be emotional and stressful for them.  Following a consultation, many clients comment they feel relived or that a weight had been lifted which is great to hear.  John would urge anyone going through such circumstances to schedule an appointment as it is better to obtain advice and support to establish a clear path forward.

Looking ahead

John looks forward to being part of a strong, reputable team and contributing towards its continued growth.

Outside Work

John is especially proud of managing my son’s grassroots football team.  Watching the team put the skills they’ve learnt in training during the week and into practice on match days is great to see and the enjoyment in the players faces make the commitment and stress completely worth it.
