Val Shaw

 Val joined the practise in 2013 but has been qualified as a solicitor since 1992.  She has always worked in the local area and since 1996 has concentrated on child care cases both public law and private law. Val was admitted to the Law Society Children Panel in 1996 and is authorised to represent both children and parents in care proceedings issued by the Local Authority.

Val's particular specialism is in Children’s law and Children’s advocacy. Val has also dealt with cases involving the Official Solicitor, where parents have lacked capacity to conduct proceedings in their own right.

In her spare time Val is mother to 2 boys who keep her busy.  She enjoys going to the gym, walking, listening to indie rock music, travelling and sightseeing.
