Save Babies; induce births earlier

Leading medics have confirmed that if the NHS induced mothers to be at least a fortnight earlier, then the number of still births could be halved.
Guidelines need to be changed for inductions from 41-42 weeks to 39 weeks. Out of 35 countries Britain lags behind at 21st position with still births affecting around 1 in 200 pregnancies or around 3,500 a year.

Early induction was found to reduce stillbirths by half. Induction usually involves administrating a hormone to kick start the labour.
Still birth rates could be significantly reduced by induction of labour at 39 weeks, states Consultant Christian Barnick of Harvey Street.
