Garstang businesses enjoy tasty treat
Networking event to promote local firms
Business leaders were brought together in Garstang for a relaxed networking event at one of the town’s best eateries. More than a dozen guests, representing a number of local independent businesses, enjoyed a wine tasting and tapas evening at Cobblers.
Hosted by Lisa Lodge from Vincents Solicitors and Sharon Duckworth from Key Mortgage Advice, the event came about after the pair met through the Garstang Chamber of Trade. The evening was aimed at helping firms get to know each other in a relaxed setting, in a bid to encourage people to use local services and suppliers.
Lisa said: “Garstang is well known for its shop local campaign, and I don’t see why that shouldn’t extend to the professional services. There is a wealth of professional experience and expertise in Garstang and the surrounding area, there’s really no need to go too far afield for most business requirements. By working together, we can support the growth of the local economy and continue to provide jobs, opportunities and services within this community.”
The pair selected Cobblers to stage the event, and were keen to introduce their guests to a local favourite. Sharon added: “Cobblers is a new addition to the High Street but is already getting top reviews. Not only were the food and the wine tasting event fantastic, but the hosts were very welcoming and our guests were very impressed, with several promising to return soon. This event was very enjoyable for everyone and provided the ideal opportunity for local businesses to meet in an informal situation and really get to know one another.”
Guests included Mick Gornall, Andrew Winstanley and Jonathan Cross from Towers & Gornall Accountants, Mark Aspinall, Sadie Sharpes and Terry Litherland from RBS, Lisa Edge from business directory Lancashare, Sarah Robinson from Ludlow Wealth Management, and James Mullin from Insiight business support.
