Lytham law firm supports local charities with Wills Week

Half price Will available in return for a charitable donation

Lytham law firm Mary E Lowe at Vincents Solicitors is fundraising for two local charities with a half price Wills Week. The first 20 people to sign up for a new Will between 23rd May and 27th May 2022 will pay just £100 rather than £200, but will be asked to donate at least £50 to either the Lytham Club Day charity or Lowther Pavilion.

Mary Lowe, head of the branch in Park Street, is a fundraiser for Lytham Club Day and a Trustee for Lowther Pavilion. She hopes that Wills Week will generate some much-needed funds for two local charities, and will encourage people who haven’t yet made a Will to protect themselves and their loved ones. Clients who want to update their existing Will, due to a change in circumstances, will also qualify for the discount.

Mary said: “Wills Weeks is a great way to raise money for our local charities and it also raises awareness of how important it is to have a Will. The charitable element often attracts the attention of people who don’t already have a Will in place and gives them an incentive to have one prepared rather than keep putting it off.

“Both Lytham Club Day and Lowther Pavilion are part of the fabric of our local community, bringing us together in ways which benefit people of all ages, their wellbeing and their enjoyment of the town. As a fundraiser for Club Day and a Trustee for Lowther Pavilion it is important to give back where I can, and I’m delighted my team are just as enthusiastic and so we’ll be offering 20 appointments throughout next week in a bid to raise at least £1,000.”

Lytham Club Day is back after a two-year absence on Saturday June 25th 2022. The Grand Procession will parade through the town starting at 10am and culminating with the crowing of the Rose Queen at 1.45pm in the grounds of Lytham Hall. The parade will feature retinues from local towns and villages and representatives from community groups and businesses across Lytham. It takes around £30,000 to stage the event, and anyone wanting to sponsor or support the day is asked to email Mary at mary@maryelowe.co.uk or any of the organisers at clubday@freeuk.com

The Friends of Lowther Pavilion and Gardens are fundraising for a £6.75million investment to extend, upgrade and improve the longstanding entertainments venue and help secure its future. A flexible performance and education space and a new café are among the aims for the institution, which holds cultural and family events all year round.

Clients making their Will as part of the fundraiser will also be asked to consider leaving a Legacy Gift to the charities as well as the minimum £50 donation. Legacy Gifts are tax free and can be given as either a Residual Legacy, which is a share or a percentage of the estate, or a Pecuniary Legacy, which is a fixed amount of money.

Anyone who wants to take advantage of the offer can contact Head of Probate Donna Matthews at the Park Street branch and quote either Lytham Club Day or Lowther Pavilion when booking their appointment. The appointment must be taken within the week Monday 23rd May to Friday 27th May 2022. The half price offer is for a basic Will which would normally be £200 plus vat, a more complex service will attract a pro rata surcharge.

Call 01253 773 377 and quote either Lytham Club Day or Lowther Pavilion when booking.
